What is an RSS/Atom Feed? ¶
RSS and Atom are standards commonly used by websites to allow users to subscribe to new content (like news, blog articles, podcasts, etc.). To subscribe to a feed you can use a feed reader like:
- Feedly (Web)
- Liferea (GNU/Linux)
- NewsBlur (Web)
- Selfoss (Self-hosted web, third-party iOS and Android)
What is a source? ¶
Sources define from where and how to get new content. Source have filters (like minimum score of a post, category, tags, etc.) to allow you to subscribe only to what you're interested in.
Sources are grouped in categories. Each category has a feed and optionaly a periodic email summary.
